"I'm excited to lead EPM into this new era of employee ownership. We have a loyal and talented team in place, coupled with our strong client relationships the transition to EOT positions us for continued service and innovation.
I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and the Team, to extend our gratitude and thanks to Gary for his leadership, guidance and dedication to the business over the last 20 years. He leaves an incredible legacy of success as far as EPM the business is concerned, and from a personal level I would like to thank him for the opportunities, mentoring and support he has given me throughout my career with EPM.
Becoming an EOT is a fantastic opportunity for the whole Team to have a significant influence on how we move forwards as a business. We aim to embrace this change, whilst continuing to provide the high level of service our customers have come to expect.
There’s no doubt that exciting times lie ahead for EPM.”
The transition to an EOT will not affect day-to-day operations, however the change introduces new advantages for EPM’s workforce, including a greater voice in the company’s strategic direction and potential financial rewards tied to the company’s success.
By moving to employee ownership, EPM joins a growing number of Scottish businesses that see EOTs as a model for long-term stability and employee engagement.
Colm Kerr of McKee Campbell Morrison provided legal advice for the transaction. He says, “A sale to an EOT is a great option for entrepreneurial businesses such as EPM Solutions. This allows the owner to realise their value, whilst offering continuity to both employees and clients. “
Carole Leslie and Alan Watt of Ownership Associates provided comprehensive, specialist advice on the transition to employee ownership. This included the valuation of the business, structuring the transaction, obtaining HMRC clearance and project managing the completion process. Ownership Associates are the leading provider of this advice, with an involvement in over 30 EOT deals in 2024.
With our sincere thanks to Colm Kerr, Alan Watt and Carole Leslie.
